It's been subpoenad in a murder trial already. Amazon doesn't want it to be a common knowledge thing that "somewhere" exists a recording of everything - including you getting random murdered.

no need. we saw they were able to get UK drives smashed with everything that touched Snowden. Imagine what they can do stateside
