What do you have against shit? Most shit I’ve encountered is relatively harmless. I think you’re being mean to shit.

First it’s probably a nignog. Second, dead nignogs own fiancé does not want police to figure out who killed nignog, probably because nignog was a criminal and so is she or at least aids and abets criminals. Third, fuck all nignogs, police should stop enforcing laws in nignogville and let them cannabilize themselves until they are all dead. Please stop using my tax money to police these subhumans who don’t even want police there anyway.

generally you lose all your rights upon death. even HIPAA no longer applies.

Biometric data should NEVER be used for security. Your point is valid, but there is a more fundamental reason why it shouldn't be used:

  1. You enter your fingerprint / face / etc. The reader doesn't store the fingerprint, it stores a hash value that represents your fingerprint . This hash value uniquely represents you.

  2. Your hash (and everyone else' hash) gets stolen off some database that wasn't configured correctly.

  3. Now your hash is forever known.

When this happens with a normal password, you just change your password.

But, you can't change your fingerprint, so you can't change your hash. So, one broken data base and your biometric data is exposed for life.

(I'm over simplifying things a bit. There are ways to layer the hash value with salting functions ... but someone who doesn't configure the database right probably won't get that right either...)

If some central authenticator of fingerprint data lost everyones' salted hashes, it wouldn't matter. If they weren't salting the hashes, well, that would be sad. You would have to use another finger, or they would upgrade their hardware to do the hash differently. Ostensibly there's quite a bit of processing that happens after you scan your finger print, and the "hash" could just be salted before it is sent.

Lots of good reasons to not use biometric data, loss of the hash meaning your biometrics were forever compromised is probably not among them.

When I learned that fingerprints are not protected so they could force you to open your phone with them, I never even considered using it. I don't use patterns either. I'm around law enforcement enough that there's PROBABLY going to be one around if I do something illegal.

Hey, funerals still happen in funeral homes. In fact, the funeral homes I know of generally have chapels attached to them specifically for such things.

And there's nothing in the news about a terrorist act. They're just doing it because it's fun for them and satisfies their curiosity.
