My ideal router is a Palo Alto lol

I have tried my hand at this on more than one occasion but dnsmasq and hostapd are a pain in the ass to get playing nicely together.

i've been running an amd apu with a couple four port nic's for a router for years. i would put in wifi cards and setup hostapd (i have before) but i need the space for ethernet. it's on a micro atx board so slots are precious. running an external ap for wireless if you need it is way easier than hostapd. either way is fine though. bind9 for dns, dhcpd for dhcp server, iptables for the actual routing and linux-igd for upnp compatability.

works great.
