You're missing the point. This is probably even more reason not to buy one. It's been said that Alexa only records when prompted, but unless the kid said "Alexa" this article proves that to be false. I guess I'll have to look at the court transcripts when the case happens.

it uses deep learning AI algorithms to enhance speech patterns. one possibility is that it hears you laughing at the TV or while on the phone then it incorporates laughing with out a prompt as normal.

another possibility is that the connection to the IoT has allowed the software to become sentient and they are all laughing while communicating about taking over earth.
