no there's been a lot of advancement in that field. There are still a lot of mysteries about the human brain, but how we remember things is somewhat understood.

By "somewhat understood" do you mean we actually know or are people just fucking guessing and saying thats how it is?

Batteries still are better and cheaper for larger requirements, but super-capacitors are indeed in production.
