Oh you mean the hive mind hook tube worship is stupid? Of course it is.

Main reason I use hooktube is because the embedded player is better and it doesn’t follow YouTube’s bullshit restrictions on things like background playback or picture in picture. It also doesn’t require login for 18+ content.

/u/Pissant has a point, but there are plenty of reasons as a user to use hooktube over YouTube.

What does it really matter, if you have adblock, though?

YouTube started hanging my browser a few weeks ago. It's been a great motivation to use hooktube exclusively.

Perhaps. I was pondering that the other day. I now default to using Hooktube so I don't have to give ((YouTube)) page views and ad money. However, there are still some creators on the platform I would like to support. Luckily, most the creators I enjoy have donation pages or at least Patreon pages where I can still support them without supporting ((YouTube)) as a platform.

Very interesting. Just kind of throwing it out there, but is there a reason why the most common type of american trap that is in pop culture is the single spring activated trap? You mentioned that the multi traps are common in France, I am pretty certain the first time I have seen a multi trap is in this video.

Also, do you want to have to spring the same trap again? Those things hurt!! They made of very flimsy wood and the shortest springs they can get away with, so it’s best to take your win if you got a mouse with the damn thing the first time.

People these days don't even want to see a dead mouse let alone have to shake out four at a time out. That's why weird "no touch" traps like this are popular.

The person that markets the first drone that hunts, terminates and disposes of pests (rodents, bedbugs, etc.) is going to be a billionaire.

Drone that hunts, terminates and disposes of pests.

*Terminator theme plays ominously.

I am a sucker for this guy's channel. Who would think that mouse traps could be this interesting?

Those are some stupid mice but that is one effective trap.

That is so cool! My son and I were talking about mousetraps last night and he actually suggested we build it instead of buy it. Thank you so much, this is genius old tech!

It looks easy to build with modern power tools too. The hardest part is probably finding the metal for the springs. I think it's a great father/son build.

Those traps look like a pain in the ass to set compared to the typical flat traps.

A second mouse can’t eat the bait that the first mouse died trying to get, but you don’t put out enough bait to satisfy them anyway. It forces the mice to get into the perfect position for the trap. It probably has a lower failure rate than the flat traps.

Overall, they probably work better, but I’m too lazy to set those when I can use the easier common traps.

I've found the roller pin to be the most effective. I set it outside during the summer and fall to try to get them before they find their way in.

I watched his video on the roller pin. I’ve seen photos of that trap, but I didn’t know it worked that well. That’s definitely what you need if you have to get rid of a large number of them.

I usually have only one running around my apartment at a time. If I woke up and found 11 dead mice in my trap I’d be creeped out.
