That’s like complaining about giving your wife/husband your phone number. By having Windows on your computer Microsoft already has access to everything you do. If you have a problem giving Microsoft your phone number you shouldn’t be using Windows.

"Don't complain to a company about the way they do things, just accept it." I use windows (dual boot) and have a big problem with them wanting my phone number (possibly). I have to use windows for certain software I use. I use windows 7 and have minimal information about me on there. I use linux to browse and bullshit. So they probably have very little information on me.

Why not just run Windows in a VM instead of having to reboot all the time?

Good job putting words in my mouth... What I was trying to say was, if you don’t like the way Microsoft (or any company) does business, don’t do business with them. NOT that you should bend over and accept it.
