It's still a genius solution, though. It's very improbable that one lava lamp will generate the exact same image data, and with hundreds, it's so close to impossible that it makes a great source of random bits forever.

not really. they're just doing what random.org or whatever they are now did ages ago, just with something else that's "naturally randomized." It isn't a genius solution anymore than I'd be a genius for using plastic tubing instead of metal pipes for my plumbing, or swapping out the engine in my car. I didn't have the idea for the engine, and I didn't invent the automobile.

This article just comes across as shilly.
