Never. Fuck that noise. I don't want some committee in an ivory tower deciding the conditions of my death. My life is my own to spend as I will.

Absolutely. I want control over the things that put my life and family in jeopardy. It may not be ideal to have to make your own choices on life and limb, but in the heat of the moment I trust myself more than any committee of fools directed by lawyers looking to minimize lawsuit costs. It's on me to decide and I will gladly take that responsibility.

give it time and an AI will make that decision instead. and it ends up that people who die in a crash don't sue because they are dead and can't go to court. the AI probably won't understand the complexities, but it WILL understand the savings.

If other people are buying those self driving cars then the ivory tower committee will still be making those decisions even if you dont buy one for yourself.

Those other cars decide to kill me + My car doesn't

or

Those other cars decide to kill me + My car does

While both options might suck, one clearly sucks more.

ahh the fatalist approach ehh? fuck that. even if others buy these cars, situational awareness and context is something computers cant really grasp.
