My friend has an Android based phone. We were talking about him getting a Wacom tablet for his sister. He didn't search for one or text his sister about if she would like one. The next time he opened his phone he saw an ad for a Wacom tablet.

I too have trouble with ads for quick heating ovens. I also get ads for various delousing compounds.

On my Alcatel Idol 4, the bundled applications which cannot be removes update themselves to "superior" versions which deliver ads and pollute your notifications with useless information. Not only are they spying on us blatantly, but they've essentially decided that they own the phone we paid for. If there was ever a time to abandon proprietary software, it's now.

No one takes the cake like Amazon. Pay 300-400$ to be served up adds every living hour of your day. And then you have to pay for prime, etc. These companies truly are scum. They expect you to have to pay to be served adds and "fake" notifications. And then they bitch when someone uses a content blocker because, as expected, not everyone has infinite bandwidth

Even Android spies on you. Make sure you reinstall Android without the google packages. Google will push ads to your location, like, driving by a McDonalds, and you get an ad pop-up on the phone.

At least with Android hardware it's pretty trivial to "jailbreak" them and it's possible (although not as trivial) to build the whole OS from source and install it over the stock Google bullshit.

Damn. I wonder what ads I'd see if I were a massive fucking window licking retard that doesn't use adblock, even on phone.

Google does this with search too. Talk about something outloud, read something on a website, and then watch the autocomplete on Google.com.

What amazes me is facebook has all this data and their ads and such are still terrible.

People are fooling themselves if they truly believe advertisement is the end goal. Privatized surveillance if anything. Goldstein had it all figured out 70 years ago:

The spectacular scientific progress that humanity has witnessed in less than a century now allows to determine at any given time whether someone is home or not, with whom that person is, and what is being said. For, thanks to a minor modification of personal phones, a phone operator only has to plug in a pair of headphones to listen in. Indeed, the mere act of picking and hanging up the phone opens and closes the connection with the telephone center, thanks to a switch mechanism that prevents electrical current from going to and from the speaker and microphone. If this switch only acts on the speaker, the microphone shall permanently remain connected to the network, and thus a phone operator would only need to listen in order to pick up what is being said in the vicinity of a telephone booth.

Recent developments allowing TV cameras to be transported inside TV studios allow us to expect with confidence the emergence of miniature cameras no bigger than a pack of cigarettes, and whose mass production would become very affordable. With the collaboration of technicians, telecom and electric companies, it should thus become possible to offer every household a direct connection with a national TV network, and, for a reasonable price, a TV receptor equipped with a miniature camera. Thus, in addition to sound that can already be picked up in every household there will be images.

Naturally, such installations in public places, coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, train and bus stations would greatly improve public safety. Their justification would readily be embraced by the population: permanent access to information everywhere from receiving ends, and the safety of honest people form emitting ends. Only criminals and troublemakers would ever question them.

Because while Facebook has all of the relevant info, the only people buying ads are bullshit ones like gourmet pet food shops that charge 5x more for basic kibble, like the one in OPs video.

We know they do this. I made a comment about a $3500 dollar tv here and then went somewhere else and got ads for $3500 tvs. The original ad I was talking about was a print ad. I was using Bing and no facebook account.

They all do it. They can use everything you've ever said against you. Their intent was and still is to be the ultimate government. With records of everything you've done online at their disposal and their crooked jew communist perversion, we'd be forced to kill them.

Where did you see the ad? I want to turn off my ad block and see if that site is doing it to me. Also your computer or phone may be infected with something that's injecting ads based on your keywords.

edit: I disabled my ad blocker and went there. Nothing relevant to anything I've been doing but holy shit is Zero Hedge infested. The page load took five times as long and the ads are everywhere. I feel dirty now.

They announced that they'd be "listening" a few years ago. I don't understand how they think they can go the wide eyed innocent route and say "we're not listening" and still keep a straight face.

Facebook announces listening feature

Voat is free speech ... and doesn't have a specific app that requires permissions to use your microphone to listen in.

He probably means "general" social media, which basically means a site where you collect friends. Although that does preclude Twitter, which is technically a microblog - you don't have "friends" , only people you follow and people who follow you

Doesn't matter most likely. The reason why phones are so cheap is so they can data mine as many people as possible.

The kindle doesn't have a mike. So amazon is getting your profile from somewhere else, most likely their shopping app if it has a mic interface.

I could really use some weed right now. But it's not like weed dealers advertise, well not where it's still "illegal". But that weed would really be great, nothing like some weed to start the day, make the day go by, and finish the day. Weed, weed, weed. Oh I forgot, I don't have facebook.

You know, I've always wanted a ceiling fan. A fan to keep me cool in the summer. I wonder what brand I should get. A ceiling fan would help a lot.

Phone and tablet are "taken care of", and no TV. No Windows 10, and no mic or camera or any of that BS.
