This is groundbreaking. I had no idea this was possible. I thought I would have to be dedicated to pre-2006 intel chips.

i still have a big stock of old laptops. as long as not all distros kill 32bit im good to go.

Disabling it is good, but how can we gain control over it? Would it be useful for my OS to have access to it?

Chip are different then the rest of the computer. They're basically good at doing one specific thing if I understand correctly. Yeah you can change the software a bit but I don't think you could use it for more processing power.
