Archived How bad is dust for your computer? (technology)

The only negatives I've experienced from dust are the following:
A computer was literally clogged with dust (like cotton candy) so it would bluescreen and turn off after a minute.
One of my computer fans makes a small rattling noise when it gets a bit too dusty.
