The companies have a clear arguing point to raise them actually, all the fancy tech makes cars cost more to repair and means that little things like a tree limb falling isn't a dent pull but a full sensor check and replacement depending on the location it hits. Plus the tech is new and changing constantly so there is no surplus of parts laying around, as well as this requiring more well trained techs meaning repair costs go up, add in that repairs on the self driving carry a bigger risk of mistakes costing lives means that the repair shop has to have more insurance so they also raise rates meaning they pass that cost on as well.
