Oh I feel you. 3mb here and it's wireless transmitter from the local water tower great little local company though they have comped me every time it has went out. Longest outage was over night do to lighting frying on there end. I do miss blazing speeds of the city but I don't miss being able to touch my neighbors house within my house if I tried
My experience is pretty similar to yours, then. Amusingly enough the little company I use uses Time Warner for their internet, and I get a pretty good ping rate on it. I'm hoping that Time Warner/Spectrum has lost enough business to Google that they'll push some lines out my way. I would love to pay what I pay now and get 20+ times the speed.
My towns cable is all underground and they have a no competition thing in place so just a shitty cable company whose connection drops out everyday is all besides that local wireless connection company

I can second /u/flarflar's experience with my abysmal speeds, and second his statement that you won't be doing anything else. Also, for mine at least, be prepared for standard definition. I'd also like to note that, for mine at list, the ping rate is less than 100ms so I can play many multiplayer games with little issue. The worst part is that downloads take almost 2 hours per gigabyte.

Without a problem just don't plan on doing much else
