Reminder that intel spent a cool $300 million to prop up "diversity", including payment to charlatan Sarkeesian, while simultaneously firing thousands of factory workers.

You now have a viable CPU alternative with AMD ryzen, so there's no longer a reason to buy intel.

I am really tempted as it is. I think that reminder just put the icing on the cake.

Even with only uncompetitive alternatives, those are reasons enough to not support intel. Unless your gayming habit is so important that you're okay with financing radicalized feminism.

Good. Intel has become vastly overpriced in the last 4 years.

Not only that, the gains have been absolute shit.

I hope AMD still manage to sell a truck load of Ryzen processors, hate to think if Intel had a monopoly.

This is why you need to ignore the Intel price drop and buy AMD. If AMD fails, we're doomed. AMD is the underdog fighting way above their weight class, and they should rightfully win this one.

Unless some awful news comes out my next PC will run AMD for sure.

They've shipped a cool million so far and 1800x are sold out on Amazon and Newegg.

Intel had been in need of a reality check for a while now.

They pretty much didn't have a choice. At the old prices AMD had them beat between "somewhat" to "holy shit" in price/performance. Intel would have massively lost market share.

i7-6850K and up are still enormously overpriced but there's a lot of momentum in the business sectors that buy these, in the form of multiprocessor boards and blades that require Intel hardware. But they can't keep it up for long. Even those have to come down in a year or so, as buyers of new business systems will switch to AMD.

Honest and fair competition is always the best thing for consumers.

Wish the best to AMD though.
