Even zero day fuckery isn't an option if you can't send any kind of packet to the system; If you want to get something on an airgapped system, you have to either put it on there yourself, or use social engineering to make someone else physically put it on there.

Actually it is an option if you know the hardware will be used by X and at Y time, your malware can be installed at the factory.

See, but if you manufacture the device, or can influence the company that does, the entity using it has a lot bigger problems than this one little exploit; Namely that they have a 3 letter agency determined to bring them down by any means necessary.
