Thanks, I'm not familiar with them. I just saw the article & thought it was worth posting.

Yes, as in everything they publish has even odds of whether it's made up by them, or made up by somebody else and regurgitated by them...

Fact is that everyone with two firing neurons wants Ryzen to be amazing, and titles like this get clicks...

Pkease, folks, keep it in your pants until the chips are actually sold in stores. You can't trust early benchmarks.

So much this. Bulldozer benchmarked well and was garbage. The last round of video cards out of AMD benchmarked okay and sucked power at a rate so far out of spec it toasted motherboards. I want to believe, I truly do, but I'm holding my breath until they're out.

Thunderbird was a great era in CPUs. AMD had the upper hand, made some money, handed Intel some comeuppance, and put a huge dent in the price of a CPU since Intel lost their brand premium pricing. Since then, prices have been continuing to creep up again....I'd love to see them get knocked down again.

Toasted motherboards? I thought they did a firmware update before actual release once they found out samples for testing were overdrawing power.

That's pretty sweet. When will the CPU be available on what price range? :-) I am a fan of AMD's CPUs.

Prices have been leaked, as for release I heard before March but that's pretty close now.

In any case, it will soon be confirmed.

Rumor has it that it will launch on either February 28 or March 2.

I bet about 10% of us can use that many cores. If you're not rendering, decompressing, compiling, or doing physics a lot it's not going to help you. For gaming you're better off with four cores, six at the most. This is a good thing: it means a gaming CPU that beats Intel's best will cost half the price. More importantly it means Moore's law is nearly on track.
