Making iPhones in the U.S. means the cost will more than double

Considering the looming trade war with China, Apple would be silly not to plan for production costs abroad to rise, and to look at manufacturing closer to home as a way of mitigating potential risk. That doesn't mean they'll do it; but it would be silly not to look at the numbers and mull it over.
