How much can that really be tho? Can't possibly be worth all the negative press they will get going after the little guy. It's not like all that many of the products are going to fail before they are obsolete. Everything they are doing just legitimizes this guy.
Think about it how many people are really going to repair their own stuff. The people that have the tools and knowledge to do this professionally don't really need this guys videos. Then you take apple users and people that repair their own stuff, and there probably isn't a whole lot of overlap(people that know don't pay the apple idiot tax).
So that leads me to believe that It has to be something else. This guy might just be in a unique position to discover some kind of unpleasant truth. Knowledge and time with just enough fame to spread it out of control.

Could be, and I'm staying open to that possibility. But just going on Apple's legal track record, my first instinct is that they are doing this because he is teaching people to fix their devices and Apple has very strict rules about only allowing "certified" Apple techs to repair devices.

This guy is kind of well known. Even if he's not performing a majority of the repairs, he's teaching others and is living proof that you can build a successful business repairing Apple products.

Well how many successful businesses can there possibly be. If you are the only guy buying up all the broke mac books off eBay for next to nothing sure you can make money. The more people that do that, the more the cost of the spare parts goes up the less profit there is to be made.
It's not like this guy is going to create a uncertified apple repair shop in every strip mall.
