Those are two pretty big 'Ifs". Everytime I try, I find something non-gaming that I really need. Last time it was my blu-ray ripper.

Personally I don't use any physical media for anything other than OS installs or an occasional boot utility. And anything non-gaming will work in a VM really.

Totally agree. I don't know much about Linux. Just enough to not be dangerous. I've always been a PC gamer and gimp is good enough for me if I wanna mess with pictures. Love the speed and simplicity.

do you mean pictures of photos. for painting theres krita, for vector inkscape, and for color and stuff in pictures, darktables. And then kdenlive for video (or blender)
