That's... diabolical. I'd be pissed if I dismissed this message only to find out Windows 10 had helped itself to a large chunk of my bandwidth cap while I was out.

By the time you get this message windows 10 has already downloaded. This is just scheduling of the installation.

Damn, that's even worse. I'm glad I don't have any Windows machines at home. We do at work, but that's managed through an on-site WSUS server.

Get the GWX Control Panel and get rid of it.

You have got to be kidding me. People with a low bandwidth cap and/or really slow internet should start a class-action lawsuit over this if it ended up making them go over their cap.

Wow. That's fucked up. That's going against inherent, natural computer usage. How is that different than just having a "yes" and "no" button, then when you click 'no,' a window pops up saying "whatever, we're doing it anyway, sucker."?

A "yes" and a "no" button would imply that the proprietary software industry respects the consumer. However, according to them, we consumers are merely walking wallets to be raped and nothing more. This is not just a dig at Microsoft, either.

You update the firmware on a game console that you paid for, and you can't go back to an earlier version. This can be a problem if the manufacturer decided to be a cunt and remove functionality, e.g. Linux support from the PS3 in the new firmware version.

I've been suspicious since the get go, but more and more im thinking windows 10 is their way to up ad revenue. so i doubt that they are giving the govt unfettered access, but they are selling everything you do to ad companies

I stumbled across your app in /v/technology months ago, and I can't say thanks enough for the trouble you saved me.

In Goatslomic, I say, Bwaaaa-aaa-aaah, thanks.

I'd install it but all my other browsers randomly freeze the computer for a minute before recovering, leaving I.E. The only usable browser.

Use Linux (or friends) or bend over.

Happened to my brother's computer last night. Clicked the X and went to take a shit. Came back to the computer "upgrading" to 10. Luckily it still needs you to agree to the terms and conditions. If you click decline it will revert to the older version you know and love.

It even weirdly started up as if nothing even happened. Like it never even shut down. All his shit immediately came back up on the screen. Very weird.

Intrusive forced update stopped by idiotic TOS. Karma's a bitch.

My windows update has had an error for the past few months. Is this the only reason I've been able to keep windows 7? Are all of you slowly getting tricked into windows 10?

Anybody not actively making plans to switch to Linux is an idiot who deserves what they get staying with this abusive asshole OS. Same as women who stay with men who beat them.

Yeah, I need to dedicate one HDD to linux... disconnect all the others, and let it rip. Worst case I end up back on Windows 7. Best case? Freeeeeeeedooooooom!!

You bought a bunch of shit in a shitty walled garden and want ME to compensate you for that idiocy? Good luck with that. Might as well find some sucker to pay you for all your shitty iTunes purchases.

Ok, besides other disabilities someone is obviously a retard if you stick with windows at this point. Games are not a reason to let a company other than you control what comes you of your network adapter.

God damn it I'm sick of homeless people walking into my home and eating food out of my fridge. It's not the cost of the food, it's the principle of the matter. At least they sometimes leave good games behind. You wouldn't let someone walk into your apartment no matter the gaming situation. You shouldn't let a company walk into your computer no matter the gaming situation. If games are a reason to let a company take complete onership of something as personal as a computer then you have a gaming problem. Like get into board gaming or something. Last I checked gaming stores aren't taking control of people's personal devices and they are both a way to mindlessly waste some time.

But yes, linux does suck at accessibility.
