So your big evidence for the NSA being the good guys is an article detailing how they are essentially useless and how all of this bulk data collection hasn't actually stopped any terrorists at all? Oh man, you sure showed me!

Yes it is fairly useless but it does show that they were only using the data to track terrorists. They weren't conspiring to control the population, they were just doing what they were suppose to be doing.

Using data (unsuccessfully) for "good" causes in no way proves they aren't using the same data for nefarious purposes, like parallel construction of cases.
