I disagree with the premise of the article, but I think this sentence highlights my problem with it best. As technology stands now, this sentence is absolutely true. But it gives no reason in principle why machines could not be constructed which also make such distinctions. People will try to philosophize to no end about this, but in the final analysis the human brain is a machine too; our advantages over computers exist because we have millions of years of evolution invested in the most advanced organic machine known to exist, versus a few decades working on the silicon variety.
I understand why people want to believe machines will never match humans. It's disquieting for me as well. But this article failed to make the case that it's impossible.

I don't see a shred of evidence for any of his assumptions.
Yeah because humans can magically predict "dramatic, unpredictable changes in the future". Right.
