Part of me wants to talk about the Tomcat, which could do this from the air for six targets since 1975. But in some ways a ground-based system is harder. What it would come down to is whether these targets were evading at full capability or just drones. In the first case (but only in the first case) it's enough to make a huge difference on the global stage.

Russian capabilities have been poo-pooed for decades but some of their systems are enormously capable, even more so than Western systems that cost three times as much.

The F-14 was created for the sole purpose of deploying AIM-54 missile system during the cold war.

In no way shape or form do I want to downplay the AIM-54, but it was extremely expensive because of the secrecy.

Back in 1975 a single missile was 2.3 million dollars to field, the American answer to Russian Missile superiority... "Fire and forget" computer superiority.

Here is a picture from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:AIM-54_6_Pack.jpg The tomcat was built as much around the Missile as the A-10 is built around the Brrt
