Dan McComas, the former second-in-command at Reddit — and vocal critic of its more inflammatory groups — wants to build a better Reddit, one that focuses on “healthy, positive communities.”

What, fucking Teletubby land or something?

Whoa hold your horses. We don't have any divisions base simply on color or shape. Here at lmzy all people are the same gelatinous masses that are equal in ever single way.

I believe you meant "mass." Masses implies more than one, which is inherently unequal. I'm going to need you to make the appropriate correction because this is not okay.

You know, what fucking gets me is that those people could just form friendships with equally infantilized adults, go on a picnic, or ugh, I guess "play-date", every once in a while and call it a day.

But no, they have to pay a bunch of money to attend "grown-up day-care". I guess there really is a sucker born every minute, but what the fuck is up with their presumably yuppie, enabling parents? How do you raise children that end up being such attention whores/non functional adults in what looks to be their late 20s early 30s?

Should we pity them? Isn't going back to childhood what people who feel that they had theirs robbed traumatically do? Like Micheal Jackson? Those poor fucks.

What the fuck is that thing with the red hair? Is that a guy, a really ugly chick, or one of those Brucekin monstrosities that North Carolina is trying to protect its citizens against?

If you had read further down, you would have seen "a safe space, free from harassment".

So yes, telefaggot land.

I think right now their efforts are more focused on getting the MadMan in the white house.

I rather like that myself.

Seems easier to just point /b at it and then forget about it.

At its core though, Imzy wants to provide a safe place to share and discuss without the fear of being harassed

lol

Opposing ideas is what they deem as harassment.

They want a giant circle-jerk where everyone thinks alike and no one debates anything.

Perhaps. I might get an account over there to see if polite disagreement is mistaken for harassment.

It's interesting to see the launch page. Like somebody already mentioned it literally looks like a Teletubbies fan site. Infantilization of your market much? On the other hand I think he has a great idea with native 'tips'. I thought this could have been a decent idea for funding of Voat. Allow users to trade money or tip one another taking like 5% or whatever of each exchange. It'd certainly result in money whoring, but I'm not sure that's any worse than the implicit karma whoring that this upvote/downvote system already creates anyhow.

I have been hoping we could monetize voat better than just asking for donations.

Healthy, positive communities, that don't indulge in thinking too much or ask inappropriate questions...

Basically a more heavily censored Reddit, the anti-Voat?

I already see reddit as the fuzzy place, this is just rediculous to me.

This is great in a way. It leaves reddit with no market. It will teach them a lesson about encouraging a cancer war by supporting a group of mods, SRS, that is openly aggressive towards their userbase. They sacrificed their company to the political gods the day they first did that. Everything else that has happened has been a result.

Given that disagreement is considered harrasment now days, I can't imagine the warm and fuzzy aesthetic is going to be comforting when you have to worry about being kicked off the site everytime you have a difference of opinion.
