Well, when your CIA hardware backdoor gets leaked to the world, it's a safe bet to say the pending lawsuits will drag your stock through the mud. Best time to sell everything you can is right before this happens.
Smart move by the scum bag, but sadly very legal.

Oh no, I feel so sorry for them after all the decades of using predatory tactics to try to kill off AMD so that intel could become an even bigger monopoly than it already is.. Not to mention the great backdoors they put in the intel management engine so that your computer can be exploited no matter which OS you are running..

And even now, they are playing their dirty tactics. When the AMD engineer posted in the mailing list that their processor don't need to be fixed, the Intel guy showed his discomfort.
If the fix is bringing down Intel performance by 50% then AMD should apply the fix and also get crippled artificially. This happed in Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML), so it became public. Microsoft and Apple could be payed huge monies by Intel to cripple AMD by applying the fix and no one would know.
Intel and their dirty tactics is why I want so desperately to die.

People would definitely know if they did that because people out there would notice the hit in benchmarks and then it would become public knowledge..

They could save it. They wont, but they could. They'd have to protect their customers and push a patch out that essentially set every Intel chip and board to default FISMA standards. That would lock out most governments or bad actors and bring some trust back to the market, but it would kill a bunch of Intel's friends in the Intel community. But who cares about investors when you have frat bros to appease- amiright?

Because he knew about the bug and the public embargo wasn't lifted back then.
