There is a huge difference between censoring things to maintain a narrative, and basic moderation to keep a subverse on-topic. If someone comes into /v/mtgaltered and starts asking about how to mod Skyrim, that's something that's clearly completely unrelated to the subverse, and shouldn't have to rely on users to self-moderate it. Having an active moderator is a good thing, if they are good at it.

Absolutely not, let the users downvote the post to hide it. Otherwise it's all grey area. This is exactly the type of garbage ruining reddit. A poser thinks something is on topic, but a mod removes it because in his wisdom it's not. Let the users decide that's what they're given upvotes and downvotes for!!!!

If Voat is better off without any moderation, why even bother having moderators then? Where do you draw the line as far as when it's okay to use moderator powers to improve a subverse, instead of just letting the majority opinion rule?
