Boston Marathon is the world series of marathons. It's THE marathon - the goal of everyone who runs distance runs. It's typically dominated by Kenyans and Etheopians - elite, professional athletes. But not today. In freezing rain and gusty wind, the 9-5'er from Japan who just likes running was able to gut it out and pass by the elite professional.

The guy is a phenom who puts it all on the line. He uses his vacation time to go run up to a dozen marathons a year, and uses local half marathons, marathons, and ultras as trainers. The guys is really a badass, and an inspiration to the rest of us average joe runners. To see him pull it out, even though he easily carries an 'elite runner' status, is a very, very cool thing to see.
