The universe is shaped exactly like the Earth, if you go straight along enough, you'll end up where you were.

The third planet is sure that they're being watched by an eye in the sky that can't be stopped. When you get to the promised land, you're gonna shake that eye's hand.

They do say in the article that it seems flat but may have a curvature that is currently undetectable.

All tests thus far have shown space itself is not curved. I'm not talking about local distortions. The part that makes my brain hurt is when some of those same people say space is flat from those conclusions.

Yes space can be folded. Why does this mean space has a definitive shape?

I think in a certain way, the universe is like mathematics. Except it's not produced by human brains and communication, but by a singularity going through endless possibilities, playing more and more complex scenarios more or less randomly as fluctuations around 0.

The same way our world of mathematics gets more and more formulas, concepts, proofs, and so on, the universe keeps expanding. And in the same way neither has any outside - though neither another species with mathematics nor a multiverse is excluded from being possible.

Our universe is a bubble surrounded by other bubbles. The uberverse is a foam of universes.

From the picture; it is shaped like a solo cup.

The universe isn't expanding. The redshift of light isn't caused by quasars and galaxies receding at high velocities. The bipolar jets in quasars and galaxies are what are showing recession.
