I believe he did and Robbie Earle said so on the NBC stream I watched. Football can take a lot from Rugby Union officiating. They play just as fast and their system of communication to make decisions seems to work very well. To not have the pressure of some thousands of supporters screaming for you to make a tough decision but rather have someone with a better view aid you in decision making could be a game changer for football.

Obviously there are some things which will need ironing out (a decision has to be made in seconds so going upstairs stops the flow or an advantage).

When thinking about it, I realize how much harder it is to implement in practice than it is to think about in theory. Whether there is an actual stop in play or not / advantage played and so on. Would teams allow for referees to reverse decisions during half time? award or take away a goal that was offside or for some other reason not allowed or allowed? its a hard one to think about, but the referees definetly need to find a solution to their awfulness this seasons.

It would need testing. It's somewhat as easy in practice as well. Rugby already did most of the testing for us. I think most players would be against a reversed call. You could go into the changing rooms in high moral, only to get back into the tunnel and find out that the other team have been awarded a penalty.

Decisions that need milliseconds to be made would be the hardest ones to implement because I wouldn't know how best to implement it.
