Everything went well. I arrived at the church at eight was treated to a long, wonderful massage to relax and then had a mani/pedi while my hair was done. The Maid of Honor and bridesmaids (shout out to Betty, Siobhan, Judy, and Taylor) kept me company and helped me focus on getting ready and not being panicky and it mostly work. By the time I was in my dress and ready to go, I felt like I was going to vomit. We all moved to the naive entry and waited for the march to start and I was feeling very faint. The MoH crushed a smelling salts popper under my nose to bring me back and then the music started and I was alright.
The brides maids went out and then flower girl and ring bearer (MoH's kids) went out and the MoH tweaked at my veil one last time and pulled my train back and then scooted out and I followed her. I was sooo scared. Some of my bestest old work friends, most of our staff, and grumpy and his wives, their daughter and son and their spouses were there, and then the ~180 other people I've never met. I was feeling more than a little panicky until I saw him waiting for me at the altar and I met his eyes. After that, I was invincible. I don't know if it was seemly to walk down the aisle with a huge grin or not, but that's what I did.
I had a huge smile through the readings and hymns and the ceremony and more prayers and and another reading.
I was sooo happy when it was over so that I could just sit down and have a good cry to relieve the tension. My husband (Yippee!) is just getting up for breakfast now and then we're heading to the airfield for an 8am flight to Hawaii. I've never been on a plane before or even visited an airport, so this is another big adventure. But I have my one and only to protect me.
I'll be in Hawaii by 6:30 (EDT) this afternoon enjoying warm weather and swimming in the ocean tomorrow before breakfast.
Thank you everyone!!!
Sanity is sometimes a group effort. It certainly has been this time. Special thanks to @ilikeskittles, @gabara, @heygeorge, @old_grumpy_fucker, @clamhurt_legbeard, @lordbeatlejuicethe1, @DieselBustersYes, @TheBuddha, and so many others. The last few months were very stressful for me for many reasons and all of helped me cope with the craziness.
