Not sure how that directly contributes anything considering the article makes no mention of effect (of lack thereof) of tidal forces or the Moon at all.

edit: perhaps I need to think this one through some more.
(It not being mentioned should be a hint, the methods used should also be a hint that the moon is very unlikely to for example disturb the sound pattern made by droplets hitting a surface or the rate at which a droplet forms else they would've caught on to that by now.
If it would affect it then the pattern should've been there.
Honestly though my 1st thought was that the comment was concerning satellites being affected and I posted this to show that on the ground measurements are a good way to measure without interference and act as a control.)
