Still, would have thought death was at least checked off the list as possible reactions. I hope there is an inquiry. Make sure they didn't skip any steps.

According to the official reports so far, they even had chimpanzee trials before moving on to humans. Honestly, it doesn't get any safer than that.

It's almost like they'd done heaps of trials in vitro and with animal models but didn't yet know how the drug would affect humans.

That is some jarring news. It is shocking to hear that these effects showed up for the first time in human clinical trials.

I have to agree with you. My first instinct was deep suspicion.

It's more likely that they doctored or fabricated earlier trial data than it is that they found a deadly side effect that only appears in humans.

Yes, the former is much more plausible. I cannot imagine how else such adverse effects would only be seen in human clinical trials. Something is fishy and needs scrutiny and excision. We will have to keep our ears tuned to this news. Something is up.
