I won't lie, I found the 'cheddar man' that the BBC promoted to be comical pseudo-science. However, Celtic/Gaelic folklore that survives does indeed suggest that ancient populations of the British Isles were visibly different from the people who we would recognize living there today. Supporting this are also the ruins of pre- iron age settlements that indicate people were shorter.

That's because real Israel and Jerusalem were in Scotland in BC. Had a lot of spill over to Ireland (Irish myth says that they were inhabited by the Skythians).
