An observation study
Pro-tip from someone who passed an introductory level statistics class: An "observational" study can't be used to establish causality, especially in this case when the two groups (Received HCQ vs. did not receive HCQ) were not similar in characteristics and differences in patient characteristics and care were not controlled for.
