the idea is that when a tree falls, there is another thing in the way and the tree falls on said thing. this thing is an observer of the tree falling. there is always an observer, if there was no observer then the tree didnt fall, except when it fell into nothingness. people have twisted the meaning of observer into meaning a human consciousness or something. but every rock and grain of dust becomes an observer..

Well, also that reality is what is. Not just what one's puny instruments can detect. Not detecting a star does not mean the stars disappeared. Further, if they think they disappeared, it doesn't mean that Aliens did it.
I'm not so sure sand can observe, but I agree with the idea if you tune your abilities and instruments enough you can detect evidence of events.

could be a cloud hiding the stars from the observer.
and maybe sand can observe the tree falling but can not observe its sound. then the falling tree couldnt produce a sound, where does this energy go then? the tree wouldnt be allowed to fall in a away that produces sound. this changes everything.
