Last time I took mushrooms I laid in some grass and looked at the stars and took an inward journey of self-reflection. When you strip yourself of ego and pride you can see yourself for what you are, the good and the bad, and figure out what changes need to be made. It's amazing how many filters we view ourselves through (many we don't even know exist), and how scary it can be to view ourselves with all of them stripped away.

Yes, shrooms do not allow me to continue lieing to myself. I can always solve my problems on shrooms.

[–] downton-stabby 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Some of these lies are introduced or reinforced in social settings. Keeping that insight through your day can help you understand how you might want to choose to deal with them, or at least understand it.

There is nothing you can't get to without them.

[–] Cid 1 points 16 points (+17|-1) ago

Yeah, and you can also get a nail nailed into a piece of wood without a hammer, but it's still more practical to use the right tool for the job.

[–] MrDarkWater 1 points 8 points (+9|-1) ago

Maybe, but nobody is teaching anybody how to achieve the same thing.

Hugging a tree for 5 minutes is better than antidepressants.

[–] smokratez 3 points 11 points (+14|-3) ago

You have to go for a walk in nature at least once a week. I always feel a lot better when I do that..

[–] MrDarkWater 1 points 5 points (+6|-1) ago

I was happiest when I was playing frisbee golf regularly

There is evidence this lowers stress levels.

That's a sign of low vitamin D.

You need 15-30 minutes of sun a day to get recommended amount of Vitamin D created in your skin.

Hugging a tree for 5 minutes is better than antidepressants.

Make sure there aren't any ants crawling all over it first.

[–] Plant_Boy 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

I would rather go for a run in a wooded area than hug a tree. Being in the proximity of... tends to be the limitations of my physical interactions.

How's your wife's boyfriend doing?

[–] Corpse_washer 1 points 1 points (+2|-1) ago

You visibly fail to understand the sarcasm.

[–] Datderdongle 0 points 17 points (+17|-0) ago

I can wholeheartedly confirm this.

was on antidepressants for years.

did shrooms with a friend and had a bad trip. by bad I mean it forced EVERYTHING I had been sjoving down and not dealing with and put it in the forefront of my mind. Absolutely inescapable. in between throwing up and laughing my ass off I came to terms with all that was affecting me.

the afterglow of that trip lasted a month, but the positive effects from that trip carried over into my life and now i deal with things differently.

however, I am not advocating them, as many people are not stable enough to handle and appreciate them. psychedelics are something you have to work up to.

[–] MaFishTacosDaBombBro 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Having a mature perspective regarding psychedelics is a good start.

[–] smokratez 3 points 14 points (+17|-3) ago

Obviously. jew shrink pills are meant to keep you ill, not to make you better.

[–] the_art_collector 0 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago

Sleep pills are the same. Just about everything that gets prescribed is a GABA agonist which can be highly addictive and literally kill you if you quit cold turkey. Meanwhile you can smoke a little indica before bed for years on end without building up a tolerance or experiencing anywhere near as bad of side effects aside from gradually realizing that literal vampires are controlling your mind through the television.

[–] smokratez 2 points 2 points (+4|-2) ago

Good post. You seem cool.

[–] MuricaPersonified 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Where are you where they hand out benzos like candy? Nah, it's the dopamine and serotonin release agonists and reuptake inhibitors that get over-prescribed.

[–] beefartist 2 points 11 points (+13|-2) ago

Throat punches are better than anti depressants too.

[–] thebearfromstartrack 1 points 8 points (+9|-1) ago

I have yet to meet a person who says antidepressants fixed them. I've never taken them (no plans to either).

[–] postagency 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

jordan peterson takes them and swears by them.

[–] Cid 1 points 5 points (+6|-1) ago

You mean the controlled op guy with a large following of displaced young males is advocating for (((pills)))? I'm shocked!

I think neither he nor his daughter is after eating only beef.

[–] thebearfromstartrack 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Who is Jordan Peterson?

[–] THEjohnnyrebel 1 points 8 points (+9|-1) ago

The psilocybin molecule is the closest thing in nature to the neurotransmitter serotonin, magic mushrooms are literally nature’s antideppresant.

[–] blumen4alles 1 points 4 points (+5|-1) ago

Also very close to the DMT molecule and others.

I look at psilocybin as orally active DMT. There are other things in mushrooms that give them a different "spirit" though, compared to extracted DMT (which can itself include aspects from whatever plant it was extracted from).

[–] shitpostfacto1 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

Just like we always knew! The pharmaceutical Industry will be really depressed when they find out that yet another open source natural substance that you can grow or forage for yourself is better than the crap they sell.Maybe they can all do a bunch of mushrooms and figure out how to get their lives going in more productive and less predatory directions.
