Climate Change is a narrative to reduce fossil fuel consumption because we will have a reduction in our lifetime. We've been talking about peak oil for decades, but we do know that oil is a limited resource and we will need a replacement. We should be spending the majority of our energy seeking renewable, efficient, and powerful alternatives which surpass the capabilities of oil, or at least performing durable manufacturing which can be reassembled by hand in an energy expensive world.

Governments didn't make the world a better place in the 19th-20th century. Oil, engines, and electricity did that.

We'll probably have hybrid/biodiesel robots.

Energy is everywhere. It is effectively limitless. Naturally we use the form of energy that is the cheapest and most efficient -- oil. If it stops being the cheapest and most efficient, we will use some other source. But forcing people to use some other source is counterproductive.
