And one day a solar storm will take out all of earth's electrical grid and send us into darkness and chaos.

Not to mention GPS satellites and telecommunication satellites.

The world will go back to 1965 in a heartbeat.

I hope it fucking does. Another Carrington Event will wipe out approximately 90% of the global population. You'd think it'd be the civilizations that depend on electricity that will die out, but no, it will be the niggers in Africa, 100% dependent on aid, aid that will never come again, and they will die within a year or two, tops.

Western nations will suffer heavily, but places like India, China, Africa, will see 95% to 100% population reductions.

The only part that really worries me is nuclear reactor meltdowns. Their safeties will only keep them cooled for so long.

95% of Africa, India and China will die

Sign me up for two of them fam

God I can only image the smell, I bet we could smell it from here.

Honestly, I hope that day is soon.

"The only part that really worries me is nuclear reactor meltdowns. Their safeties will only keep them cooled for so long."

Yes. That is what will finish off the last humans. The US, China and Europe are covered in cooling (spent fuel) pools. When they boil off, it will soon be over for everyone.

Unless perhaps you are in the southern hemisphere, perhaps in central Australia. Or if you live deep in a mountain valley in the Andes. May be safe there.

I'm about 250 miles away from the nearest reactor. I wonder how long I have until I become a mutant.

Why do the lines in the earth bubble look like a spider?

The blue represents parts of the magnetosphere - check out this guys channel. He's great at analyzing the sun and does not agree with the current anthropogenic-climate change hypothesis.

I wonder if AOC has a plan to prevent the next one.

[–] FridayJones 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

A resolution condemning Solar proton events will be immediately introduced to the House by AOC.

So the Mayans were right the whole time but they didn't account for the earths position in space.

If this happens again, we're screwed! Mother Nature's reset button.

The relative abundance of the radionuclides in the ice suggested that the 660 B.C. event was about 10 times more powerful than a 1956 event, the strongest solar storm recorded by instruments.

[–] MDGAustin 2 points -2 points (+0|-2) ago

660 B.C., at least there is acknowledgment that the alleged solar storm wasn't "millions of years ago." Hard to believe anything outside of God's breathe words - the Bible.
