The idea that we have to fund research to define the patently obvious is indicative of the strangle hold the anti-science left has on the medias definition of reality.

Came here to say the same thing, this is all blatantly obvious shit but we need a scientific report just to shut the retards up.

The problem is that this still won't shut the retards up because they were perfectly happy ignoring the patently obvious and living in a fantasy world.

It won't shut them up - they'll just claim that science is gross and transphobic, and continue on with their Lysenkoism.

Let’s clear this up once and for all.

I agree we live in a anti science society today. These tests, no matter how obvious. Just confirmed everyone's suspicions. Now that they have seen it it is scientific fact there should be no debate or at the least run more tests to prove instead The research will be ignored because it hurts people's feelings

Fat is genetic! Gender isn't!

If these people are so disillusioned as to be able to disavow one of the most self-evident things about the human condition, it will be a small matter to ignore a scientific study. They've already disavowed the science which came before it. Cognitive dissonance is powerful.

Do you think anybody truly believes we're identical? One of us fucking gives birth, how can we be identical???

The question is why would someone go through all the trouble to make us all "alike". What benefit does a society get by removing the positives of each gender? All we have now is identify politics based on gender, which isnt getting us anywhere

That's actually the best point. If a woman transitions to a man, dies, rots all the way down to the bone, and someone digs up her body, just by the hips alone they would deduce that it was a human female. Same with a man. As far as I know hormones can make you look like the other sex but bone structure is kind of a bitch to change.

You should keep this kind of information to yourself before you get burned at the stake.

The key phrase is "if a woman transitions". If you start transitioning during or after puberty, there's only so much you can do and it's a crapshoot whether you turn out well. If you're diagnosed early enough to have puberty delayed until you can start hormones (~16 y/o for responsible doctors) so that you effectively don't experience your biological sex's puberty, you have a much better chance of being passable.

Thank heavens. You don't want more of me here, Sir.

Plus I got five kids, you realize. Four raccoons and my autistic brother since he was little. I'm drowning in obligations and responsibilities.

You study the patently obvious because what is obviously true isn't.

By way of example I point people to check out the very real world of human chimera and "vanishing twin syndrome"

http://time.com/4091210/chimera-twins/

It turned out that the DNA in the man’s sperm, which was 90% his DNA and 10% that of his twin’s, was from his unborn fraternal twin. Vanishing twin syndrome, which refers to the condition in which one twin dies and is “absorbed” by the other, or by the mother or the placenta, occurs in anywhere from 20% to 30% of pregnancies with multiple babies. Apparently, the father had absorbed some of his twin’s cells in the womb, effectively becoming a blend, or chimera, of himself and his brother. The man’s previous child’s DNA matched his, so, as Starr says, “He is like dad and uncle to his kids.”

also

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lydia_Fairchild

Lydia Fairchild is an American woman who exhibits chimerism, in having two distinct populations of DNA among the cells of her body. She was pregnant with her third child when she and the father of her children, Jamie Townsend, separated. When Fairchild applied for enforcement of child support in 2002, providing DNA evidence that Townsend's paternity was a routine requirement. While the results showed Townsend to be certainly their father, they seemed to rule out her being their mother. ... Fairchild was carrying two different sets of DNA, the defining characteristic of chimerism.

A chimera of male and female fraternal twins would be a classic cause of trans-gendered people

and a study of this sort of thing would require this sort of data as a baseline

Completely agreed. To say there's no such thing as someone who truly to their core believes/feels like the opposite gender doens't understand that there are 8 billion iterations of highly complex systems replicating themselves. There's going to be all sorts of oddities.. that's how evolution works. That's how we got here. You can't pick and choose the comfortable / familiar parts as being what's reality.

Transgendered people are real- I don't think everyone that has identified as trans really is however.. but I also think there are a lot of people who haven't identified themselves that are. To hate on someone because they were dealt a shitty hand is fucked.
