China just sent the first information off Earth at faster than the speed of light

They didn't. There is no such thing as FTL communication. Quantum teleportation copies the state of one particle to another by sending the information through a classical channel. The entanglement is necessary to make the copying work, but the actual information transfer is limited by the speed of light.

Pretty sure they teleported the photon's state, not the actual photon.

If they were actually able to make a photon tunnel that far that would be truly groundbreaking.

So the state alteration would mean that faster than light communication is possiboe, right?

Definitely strange; however, there is a research article about this referenced in the OP.

Cornell was willing to put their stamp of approval on it. Which lends it some legitimacy.

Edit: Fixed poor wording.

China: *motherf**king teleports a photon into space*

US: *Fighting the real battle. Getting more women in STEM fields*

They did no such thing. Quantum "teleportation" is a different meaning of "teleportation" at best, and complete bunk at worst.

Yeah, what he said.

This is China. Obviously a knock off teleportation device.

Bones definitely does not approve of such devices from China.

Over 32 days, they sent millions of photons and found positive results in 911 cases.

...wut?

Teleportation:something yet so primitive you lose even particles that have no mass.

Could you describe the proton, sir?

Unfortunately there is some controversy involved as the first photon already in the teleporter was bumped for a priority photon................sadly no video.

Obviously white photon privilege is at play here...

I get your joke. But, FYI, there is no such thing as a white photon.

Did you assume that photons charge?

Actually it's quite small, even smaller than microscopic!

Ackchually, a photon has no "size" because it has no mass.
