'From the start, Samantha seemed a willful child, in tyrannical need of attention. '
'More darkly—and typically, in these sorts of cases—another psychologist blamed Jen and Danny, implying that Samantha was reacting to harsh and unloving parenting. '
'And yet, they love Samantha. “She’s ours, and we want to raise our children together,” Jen says. '
'One bitter December day in 2011, Jen was driving the children along a winding road near their home. '
'Some of the boys were raised in middle-class homes with parents whose major sin was not abuse but paralysis in the face of their terrifying child. '

San Marcos is hardly any closer to Awstunz, than to San Antonio, and it's often slower between San Marcos and Awstunz, actually driving. Must be written by a yankee. San Antonio is also bigger and more important.
Or maybe someone from Florida or Oregon for that matter. Texans seem to be the only people who care that much about Texan geography. Texas doesn't get the appreciation it deserves.
All I know is, as a Hays County resident, with San Marcos as my county seat, "going to the city" means San Antonio, more often than not. I'm nominally closer to Austin, but it's a lesser destination for most things.

Are you serious? San Marcos is a lot closer to Austin, the same way New Braunfels is closer to San Antonio.

If you want to be anal abut it, city center to city center, New Braunfels is significantly closet to sa, than San Marco is to austin...5 miles closer.
The midway town between aus tin and sa is Hunter.
Now look at a map.
You will note that Austin is not appreciably closer.
Stand by original statement.
At to why san macros needed to be qualified, relative another city: no idea. Must have needed to meet a word count.

Read for comprehension.
You might note I did not say what you claim I said.
