This is why I don't go down the climate change rabbit hole. Do I think climate change happens? Yes, we have Ice Ages to reference. Do I think it can be man made? Probably, but the data is too complicated for the average person and the average person is an absolute moron when it comes to science.

So, I say, forget climate change. We can point to more immediate concerns that the average moron can understand. Smog in the city? Even the most conservative moron will agree that's man made and will agree it's not a good thing. So, focus on that and we can probably address the issue of climate change without ever having to mention climate change at all, least of all argue about it with the mouth breathers.

It's like, "Dude, we aren't even talking about climate change. Who the fuck cares? We are talking about cleaning up the toxic air you are breathing right now."

The real issue is preserving the ecosystem in a stable form to ensure the future of our species. The cause of the change is only of concern for being able to control and prevent further change from occurring. It's not only important for our home-world, but for any potential extra solar colonization efforts in the future.

There is no such thing as a stable ecosystem. The ecosystem is constantly changing just from natural causes, so to say man made causes is inherently bad is a misleading and manipulative argument. 10,000 years ago we were in an Ice Age. Go back 65 Million years ago and we had an asteroid which completely fucked everything up. Go back farther than that we had a planet which was much hotter than any man caused climate change predictions. Go back farther than that and we had a planet completely covered in ice. Assuming the ecosystem needs to be preserved "in a stable form" is short sighted and disregards the ability for life to adapt to changing situations.

This is why I say "Don't worry about climate change". It happens. It will probably be OK if it does. But, on both sides of the argument, advocates and opponents are acting as if a long term "problem" is a short term "problem". If those who want to worry about climate change on the short term, they need to stop focusing on climate change, because it's not a short term problem. They need to address related problems that are immediate. Like smog, acidification of rivers, lakes, and oceans. These are problems we have now and if we address those problems now, climate change will probably never even be an issue.
