I don't think the author of the article actually went into any Hospitals in California. If they had, they would see that almost EVERY building has been plumbed with copper piping over the past 20 years. Has there been any effect here in California? I don't think so. If it had, there would be an anomaly so huge that it would be noted.

it doesn't have anything to do with dispensing fluids via copper pipe... it's about making handrails / bedrails / elevators / everything else that you touch from copper as copper is antimicrobial. nothing to do with plumbing.

That would be the industry then. The entire metal industry. Copper is a lot more expensive, 4x more than stainless and if you were complaining about prices of health care now, after copper no one would be able to afford it. Stainless is disinfected daily, that is much more cost effective than making copper hand rails, bed rails and all other.
