I loved it as a kid, and I even sent Thomas a postcard. But as time went by, I noticed its flaws, mainly the repetitive quests (I've probably saved that damned carpenter a million times), impractical overland travel, and that summoning monsters turn combat into a dull slog. It has the misfortune of falling into the gap between true roguelikes and story driven RPGs, delivering unsatisfactory performance on both ends.
