Very fair roguelike that doesn't try to hide information from the player (Like dungeon crawl stone soup), if you take your time and with a bit of luck you should be able to win in your first dozen of tries, assuming you have some roguelike experience.

I was under the impression that DCSS is very generous with player info. Sure, it doesn't display the odds of defeating an enemy like Brogue, but it's not deliberately obscurantist like Nethack.

Decks have cards in them, there's no real way of seeing what a card does unless you wiki it. the three stats are not really explained properly anywhere in game, your only hope is to wiki it. It's a game entirely based around getting a feel of things, as it tries to hide a lot. For a long time, ranged combat was a massive mystery on how it worked. Encumbrance is a still massive mystery, all I know that strength reduces it somewhat its slowly getting better, but it's not there yet.
