As I recall BASICA was the ROM BASIC bundled with the earliest IBM PCs. It predates MS-DOS. I seem to recall using it on a 4 MB PC-AT. The language is substantially similar to GW-BASIC, You can find stand alone BASICA interpreters on various download sites, which I believe are patched up dumps from original PC ROMs. Some versions may not work with MS-DOS, probably due to short sighted design on the part of Microsoft.
