This. There is an old saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Its just that some people need a lot of absence for that to happen it may be a few days to cool off it may be that you keep them away for the rest of your life.
Although I think since this question was posted to v/religion I think they mean on a grander scale then personal relationships. Like how do you love a people you feel have wronged you which is much simpler.
I don't, I just don't hate them anymore. I got over it. There is no requirement to love everybody but for your own sanity and peace of mind, don't hate. Hate is a terrible thing.
Personally I believe hate is often justified, rational, and healthy. But you have to be careful that it doesn't consume you and become unhealthy. Often times forgiveness is a tool of the cruel and selfish to allow them to continue their abuses with impunity. I forgive family and friends. Everyone else will pay me what they owe.
If they hurt me by doing me wrong, then I try not to feel hurt by them, and instead hurt for them. It's in the same vein as what Jesus says on the cross, 'Forgive them, for they know not what they do.' He wasn't being hurt by them, He was hurting for them in their wrongdoing.

You can forgive them. That is what it means to be human. If they continue to hurt you, then you can love them from afar. Good luck to you.

Jesus told us to love our neighbors as ourselves, but I can't love people who hurt me before many times

Odin says to slay those who have wronged you. Most heroic.
What you going to do?

Hurt how?
There is a huge range in that word. It could be something serious and nearly unforgivable or it could be relatively minor

You don't. Don't turn the other cheek. You'll only make yourself a willing victim.

If you really want to love them, you'd have to go of your resentments and hurts in regards to that person

It takes strength to love, but wisdom to know when it may be withheld.
