OK. Apart from the fact Jesus did say he came to bring a sword, how would a Christian respond to the following situation:
A country (lets call it ISIS - who I condemn and believe are totally unIslamic, despite their name) decide they are so intolerant they want to wipe out all Christians, rape their women and commit total genocide.
How as a good Christian will you respond? Will you turn the other cheek and let them get on with it, hand over your wives, daughters, mothers and your throats? Or will you allow self defence?
Islam permits self-defence. Any moral philosophy has to otherwise all the good people would immediately be wiped out by the genocidal maniacs (Hitler, ISIS etc) and no good person could ever survive.

Islam only - ONLY - allows war in self defence.
