Hello everyone,
I am sure any readers of the sub are aware of this recent post: https://voat.co/v/religion/comments/452168
In addition I have received private comments complaining about the tone the sub has taken in recent days and weeks.
I'm all for atheists debating but perhaps it has gone too far. So I am looking to add three or four more moderators who can work actively to balance stuff out. Here are my suggestions for how I would like moderators to behave (although regular readers of the sub are welcome to add their thoughts in the comments and I will take them into account).
1- I don't want freedom of speech and genuine debate curtailed at all, even if we disagree with someone's comments. I have never personally removed comments and I would not want it to particularly go down that road, although perhaps with the exception of extreme cases.
2- I wouldn't want the original manifesto for the sub (as seen in the sidebar) changed. I want it to be a place where people of all faiths or none (including atheists) can come and express their views, with the request we try to treat one another with courtesy.
3- What I do want is active mods - more active than me - who engage in and steer the debate by making positive posts and positive comments and I guess stepping in and warning people formally when they are taking it too far (I would prefer formal warnings rather than removal of comments, at least a couple of warnings before any action is taken against an individual)
I more than welcome other people's thoughts, its your sub so if the majority disagree with my view I am happy to change them, please do leave your comments below.
With that said, if you wish to apply to be a mod please send me any relevant details in a private message. If you wish to nominate someone who is a regular user here you can do so in the comments below. :D

Agreed. Like I said, I have no problem with anti Islam content. It should be high quality content though.
